अधिकारियों का कहना है कि इस बार मानसून के दौरान अधिक वर्षा और भूस्खलन के कारण देशी पर्यटकों की आवाजाही कम रही। साथ ही नवरात्र और त्योहारों के समय लोग अन्य स्थलों की ओर रुख कर गए।
31 अक्टूबर से बंद होंगे प्रवेश द्वार
नंदा देवी नेशनल पार्क रेंज अधिकारी ने बताया कि “फूलों की घाटी में हर वर्ष नवंबर से बर्फबारी शुरू हो जाती है, इसलिए सुरक्षा कारणों से गेट 31 अक्टूबर को बंद कर दिए जाएंगे। इसके बाद पर्यटकों का प्रवेश वर्जित रहेगा।” घाटी अगले वर्ष जून महीने में दोबारा पर्यटकों के लिए खोली जाएगी।
यूनेस्को विश्व धरोहर स्थल की पहचान
फूलों की घाटी को यूनेस्को विश्व धरोहर स्थल का दर्जा प्राप्त है। समुद्र तल से लगभग 3,500 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर स्थित यह घाटी हर वर्ष जून से अक्टूबर तक रंग-बिरंगे फूलों की अनूठी प्रजातियों से सज जाती है।
