मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी (CEO) डॉ. बीवीआरसी पुरुषोत्तम की पहल पर आगामी विशेष गहन पुनरीक्षण (SIR) के दृष्टिगत प्रदेश में वर्ष 2003 की मतदाता सूची में नाम खोजने की प्रक्रिया को अत्यंत सरल बना दिया गया है। अब मतदाता केवल अपने गली, मोहल्ले और एरिया के नाम के आधार पर भी वर्ष 2003 की मतदाता सूची में अपना नाम खोज सकेंगे।
सहायक मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी श्री मस्तू दास ने जानकारी दी कि प्रदेश में 10 जनवरी तक BLO आउटरीच अभियान संचालित किया जा रहा है। इस अभियान के अंतर्गत बूथ लेवल अधिकारी (BLO) घर-घर जाकर मतदाताओं से संपर्क कर रहे हैं और उनकी जानकारी का वर्ष 2003 की मतदाता सूची से मिलान कर रहे हैं।
उन्होंने बताया कि प्रदेश में अनेक ऐसे मतदाता हैं जिन्हें अपने वर्ष 2003 के बूथ की सही जानकारी उपलब्ध नहीं है। मतदाताओं की इसी समस्या को ध्यान में रखते हुए CEO उत्तराखण्ड की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट पर वर्ष 2003 की मतदाता सूची को अधिक सरल सर्च विकल्पों के साथ उपलब्ध कराया गया है।
वर्तमान में मतदाता मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी, उत्तराखण्ड की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट पर अपने विधानसभा क्षेत्र, अपने नाम तथा पिता/पति के नाम के आधार पर मतदाता क्रमांक और बूथ संख्या की जानकारी प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। नए फीचर के जुड़ने से अब गली, मोहल्ला एवं एरिया के नाम से भी मतदाता सूची में खोज संभव हो गई है, जिससे आम नागरिकों को बड़ी सुविधा मिलेगी।
सहायक मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने जनसामान्य से अपील की है कि वे BLO को अपेक्षित जानकारी उपलब्ध कराएं और इस अभियान में सहयोग करें। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रत्येक मतदाता के मताधिकार की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए BLO द्वारा समन्वय, संवाद और प्रत्येक मतदाता तक प्रभावी पहुँच बनाई जा रही है।
