उन्होंने सिंचाई विभाग को विभागाध्यक्ष की अध्यक्षता में इंजीनियर्स की नियोजन समिति को सक्रिय करने के निर्देश देते हुए कहा कि किसी भी प्रस्ताव को भेजने से पूर्व तकनीकी एवं वित्तीय पहलुओं का परीक्षण इस समिति द्वारा किया जाना अनिवार्य हो।
मुख्य सचिव ने सचिव आपदा को राज्य कार्यकारिणी समिति की बैठकों में ENC, PWD को स्थायी सदस्य के रूप में शामिल किए जाने के निर्देश दिए। साथ ही उन्होंने बाढ़ सुरक्षा कार्यों के लिए पृथक नियमावली तैयार करने के भी निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने कहा कि कार्यस्थल की स्थिति एवं प्रकृति के अनुरूप प्रत्येक कार्य की आवश्यकताएं भिन्न हो सकती हैं, इसलिए उसी के अनुसार कार्य योजना बनाई जाए।
